Today's topic: What are Literary Terms?

✅✅ Simile:

(A simile is a figure of speech that compares between two different / dissimilar things in an explicit way / directly (সরাসরি).

২. সর্বদাই as, as like as, as--as, as if, like, resemble, such.

1.Her words are as sweet as honey.

Simile.

2. I wandered lonely as a cloud.

✅✅ More Examples:

✪ Shayla's face is as like as the moon.

✪ My love is like a red rose.

✪ You were as brave as a lion.

✪ My heart is like an open highway.

✪ My heart is like a singing bird.

✪ Life is like a dream.

✪ I'm as nervous as mouse.

✪ 'My Mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun.

✪ She swims like a dolphin.

✪ My love for you is as deep as the ocean.

✪ Your explanation is as clear as mud.

Nazrul is like Shelley.

কিন্তু , Nazrul is like a lion / tiger.

✅✅ Metaphor:

(A Metaphor is a figure of speech that compares between two different / dissimilar things in an implicit way / indirectly (পরোক্ষভাবে).

২.এখানে as, as like as, as--as, as if, like, resemble, such ইত্যাদির উল্লেখ না।

1. The girl lips were rosary.

Metaphor.

2. But thy eternal summer shall not fade.( কিন্তু তোর মাঝে যে চিরন্তন বসন্ত ( যৌবন) আছে তা কখনো হারিয়ে যাবেনা।)

Metaphor.

✅✅ More Examples:

✪ The world’s a stage.

✪ Franklin has a heart of gold.

✪ Mary’s voice is music to my ears.

✪ He’s a walking encyclopedia.

✪ You are my sunshine.

✪ The man is a mad dog.

✪ He drowned in a sea of grief.

✪ She is fishing in troubled waters.

✪ Kisses are the flowers of affection.

✪ Laughter is the music of the soul.

Nazrul is Shelley.

কিন্তু যদি বলি , My life is a local bus.

✅✅ Simile ও Metaphor- এর পার্থক্য: ( Distinction Between Simile & Metaphor.)

✪ Simile: The world’s like a stage.

Metaphor: The world’s a stage.

✪ Simile: She is as innocent as an angel.

Metaphor: She is an angel.

✪ Simile: Your eyes are like sunshine.

Metaphor: Your eyes are sunshine.
